1. Open the Windows Start menu and type "PRTG".
2. Click Uninstall PRTG Network Monitor.
3. Confirm the Windows User Account Control with Yes to allow the program to uninstall.
4. In the PRTG Network Monitor Uninstall dialog, click Yes to confirm that you want to completely remove PRTG from your system.
5. The uninstaller will prompt you to back up your PostgreSQL database. If you want to save your historic monitoring data, back up the database now, then click OK to continue.
Note: The uninstallation also removes PostgreSQL from your system.
6. Wait while PRTG is removed.
7. To complete the uninstallation of PRTG, your system needs to restart.
Click Yes to confirm the system restart.

After you restarted your system, PRTG is removed. There are still some data files left on your system that you need to delete manually to complete the removal.
Delete the PRTG data directory folder:
1. Open Windows Explorer and type %programdata%\Paessler into the address bar, then press Enter.
2. Delete the PRTG Network Monitor folder by pressing the Del key.

3. In Windows Explorer, navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\PRTG Network Monitor.
4. Delete the PRTG Network Monitor folder by pressing the Del key.

Custom alerts and data visualization let you quickly identify and prevent all kinds of issues
When you install PRTG, a component called Npcap is also installed on your system. After the uninstallation of PRTG, you need to manually uninstall Npcap.
1. Open the Windows Start menu and search for Apps & features (Windows 10) or Installed apps (Windows 11), then open it directly.
Alternatively, open the Windows Start menu, click Settings, and select Apps.
2. Scroll down to and click Npcap (the exact label may vary depending on your PRTG version, e.g. Npcap OEM or Npcap 0.9983) to view more actions.
Click Uninstall.
3. Confirm the Windows User Account Control with Yes to allow the Npcap component to uninstall.
4. In the Npcap Uninstall dialog, click Uninstall and wait until the uninstallation process is finished.
